Golf club Eichenheim
What insiders have long suspected is now official throughout the world of golf: the
Eichenheim Golf Club in
Kitzbühel has the best course in the whole of Austria. That was the verdict reached in the May 2005 edition of the international golf magazine GolfDigest in its world rankings of the golf facilities available in the various golfing countries of the world. The 18-hole course on the southern fringe of the Tyrolean resort scored not only for its unique setting in the magnificent Kitzbühel Alps but also for the standard of upkeep of the course, the exciting design and layout of the holes, and also the fine ambience of the new and luxuriously styled clubhouse, which was built in 2003.
GC Eichenheim best in class and top in Austria
Kitzbühel is already known unofficially as the “golfing center of the Alps” – and the accolade is well deserved. Just five minutes away by car from the centre of the resort, the four local golf courses – at
Eichenheim Golf Club,
Kitzbühel Kaps,
Kitzbühel Schwarzsee, and
Rasmushof Golf and Country Club – offer a total of 54 varied holes with lots of opportunities to go for those pars, birdies and eagles. Now Kitzbühel’s leading role in the world of golf has been confirmed by no less an authority than GolfDigest, one of the most prominent golf magazines in the world. Their team of experts voted GC Eichenheim’s 18-hole championship course (par 71), which was designed by the American architect Kyle D. Phillips, the best golf course in the whole of Austria. The results of the big golf course test, covering no fewer than 184 countries worldwide, were published in the May number of GolfDigest in the category “Top Courses in Europe and Western Asia”. GC Eichenheim, which came first ahead of such well known courses as GC Fontan in Vienna, Haugschlag Golf & Resort in Haugschlag and Murhof GC in Graz, offers the ambitious golfer a range of scenic and golfing highlights on its 6,043 meter long course, including Austria’s most challenging par 4 hole. And anyone in need of a bite to eat or some liquid refreshment after a serious round of golf should be sure to take advantage of the exclusive clubhouse with its panoramic views. That’s excellent, too!
